Shawnee Smith


 


Shawnee Smith is best known for her role in the
Saw movies as Amanda, Jigsaws protégé and female villain. On television, you will recognize her as the ditzy nurse's aide, Linda, on Becker.

Shawnee Smith was born on July 3, 1970 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Her father was a financial advisor and Air Force Pilot and her mother a nurse. Her first appearance in a feature film was in Annie in 1982. In 1987 she also starred in the hit comedy Summer School as a pregnant teen. In 1988 she did the Steve McQueen remake of The Blob. During the 2004 filming of Saw it was found that Shawnee was 4 months pregnant with her second child during the shooting of the movie. She also has a part in the Saw III soundtrack.

She has made numerous appearances in television shows, including Married With Children, Becker, and the miniseries The Stand. She has also been in numerous guest appearances on television, including Cagney & Lacey, Murder, She Wrote, the X-Files and Players. She has also loaned her voice for an episode of Kim Possible.

Pushing the extremes in her critically acclaimed punk/metal band Fydolla Ho, Shawnee is currently working on her first solo record with Queens of the Stone Age producer Chris Goss.
